Joan, Receptionist

Joan has been with Middlebrook Animal Clinic pretty much from the get-go!  She is married with 3 children and 5 wonderful grandchildren.  She also has Fritz, her miniature schnauzer and a very curious cat, George.  Joan graduated from Stephen's College in Columbia, Missouri with an Associates degree and attended an additional year at the University of Wisconsin in her home town of Milwaukee.  After moving a total of 17 times with her corporate husband, she is now settled in and enjoying Knoxville.  Two of her three children have followed her here making it easier than ever to be involved in her grandchildren's activities.  Some of these include: tennis, basketball, swimming, bowling, and theatre.  Joan is also an avid Green Bay Packers fan and CAN'T miss a game!  She also enjoys music, dinners out, and a good game of bridge, cribbage, or gin rummy.  You can catch Joan out by the lake or pool any day in the summer as she LOVES the water!

Tiffany, Office Manager, Head Veterinary Assistant

Born in Lufkin, TX, but moved with her family to Oak Ridge, TN, just a year later.  Tiffany joined Middlebrook Animal Clinic on June 24, 2009.  She has had a passion for animals since she was in elementary school.  Tiffany began her journey into veterinary medicine when she was a senior in high school.  One day she hopes to futher her education by entering vet school, but for the time being is absorbed with practice management.  For some folks, she is also known as "The Mob."  Her furry kids include her two long-haired kitties, Socks and Cotton, and Jack, an outgoing Miniature Schnauzer/Pekingnese mix -- he is regularly seen greeting our clients.

Erin, Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, Erin remains a Knoxvillian with her husband, Josh, and young son, Garrett.  Erin couldn't wait to join us at Middlebrook Animal Clinic, and she finally did so on February 8, 2010.  Prior to this, Erin had been a professional groomer for 5 years.  Yet, after being a client of Middlebrook Animal Clinic, she realized that her heart was being pulled towards veterinary medicine and caring for animals.  Her "other" children are Dexter, a mischievous Chihuahua mix, and Midge the adorable Munchkin cat.  In her spare time (!!), she enjoys an array of activities that include reading, knitting/crocheting/sewing, playing paintball and accumulating unusual bruises from paintball.  Erin is also our resident comedienne.

Darren, Veterinary Assistant

Born in Hobart, IN, Darren moved to Knoxville with his family when he was 10 years old.  He came to Middlebrook Animal Clinic on June 28, 2010.  Darren is currently in college and one day aspires to go to vet school.  Darren loves being outdoors during his free time, and boy, can he run!  He also is very active in his church.  His fuzzy companions include Maxx, a Jack/Rat Terrier, and Izzy, a jungle kitty extraordinaire.

Quila, Resident House Cat

Quila, (pronounced "Key-luh") is our house kitty.  She is approximately 7 years old and was a stray in the area when the flower shop became Middlebrook Animal Clinic.  Skittish and leary at first, Quila was hesitant to succomb to Dr. Sarah's tactics, but after a few short months of coersion, Quila finally came around and is very loving.  While loving, she does have an evil side...she will parade in front of your cat if you bring him/her in a carrier, as if to say, "Ha ha, I'm free and you're not!"  She is also not hesitant to smack a dog on the head if he/she jumps up on HER counter!  In her spare time, Quila enjoys antagonizing field mice and juggling small rodents!
